Senior Accountant

Description:

We are looking to hire a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to manage the financial operations of holiday homes and short-term rental properties in the UAE. This role involves overseeing accounting processes, ensuring regulatory compliance, and providing accurate financial reporting to support strategic decision-making.

The ideal candidate will be proficient in QuickBooks Online, have advanced Excel skills, and possess a strong understanding of UAE VAT regulations. This is a key position for someone who can manage complex reconciliations, mentor junior staff, and ensure smooth financial operations across multiple property units.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform daily revenue reconciliations between RMS (Property Management Systems), Airbnb, and Booking.com
• Prepare and manage monthly Owner Statements, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
• Oversee Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP), aging analysis, and collections
• Reconcile bank accounts and payment gateways within QuickBooks Online
• Ensure full compliance with UAE VAT regulations, prepare returns, and coordinate with auditors
• Prepare financial reports including Profit & Loss, Balance Sheets, and cash flow summaries, with focus on cost allocation per property unit
• Track fixed assets, manage depreciation, and coordinate inventory checks
• Mentor and provide guidance to junior accounting staff

Skills & Qualifications:

• Minimum 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in hospitality, holiday homes, or short-term rental industries
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and advanced Microsoft Excel (including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, and data modeling)
• Strong knowledge of UAE VAT laws and statutory compliance
• High attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy under tight deadlines
• Strong analytical, organizational, and mentoring skills
