Senior Accountant

Description:

A leading sports facility in Dubai Sports City is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to oversee end-to-end accounting operations and support the organization’s financial management. This role is ideal for professionals with strong accounting expertise who can ensure financial accuracy, regulatory compliance, and efficient finance operations.

The successful candidate will manage financial records, tax compliance, reconciliations, reporting, and audit coordination while providing valuable financial insights to support business decisions. Previous experience within a sports facility or similar industry will be considered an advantage.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage complete accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and month-end/year-end closing.

• Record and monitor daily financial transactions while ensuring the accuracy of accounting records.

• Monitor cash flow, revenue, expenses, and budget performance.

• Perform account reconciliations and resolve financial discrepancies.

• Handle VAT compliance, VAT returns, and corporate tax-related accounting activities.

• Support corporate tax preparation, documentation, and coordinate with external consultants and auditors.

• Maintain accounting records in compliance with UAE regulations and company policies.

• Manage payroll-related accounting entries and support finance operations.

• Maintain accounting software records and ensure smooth system functionality.

• Provide financial analysis and insights to support management decision-making.

Requirements:

• 5–6 years of relevant accounting experience.

• Previous experience in a sports facility, sports club, or a similar industry will be an added advantage.

• Experience with Big 4 accounting firms will be an added advantage.

• Knowledge of QuickBooks accounting software is an added advantage.

• ACCA / CA qualification is preferred and will be considered an advantage.

Strong knowledge of:

• Financial accounting, VAT compliance, and corporate tax.

• General ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.

• QuickBooks, financial reporting, payroll accounting, and audit coordination.
