Senior Data Architect

Description:

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Data Architect to lead the end-to-end assessment, structuring, governance, and optimization of a ~1PB enterprise data estate across on-premises and cloud environments.

This is a strategic role driving data modernization, governance, and security at scale.

Key Responsibilities

1. Data Estate Assessment (Primary Focus)

• Conduct deep discovery across SharePoint (On-Prem & Online), file shares, and cloud repositories

• Classify structured vs unstructured and critical vs redundant data

• Identify duplication, ROT (redundant, obsolete, trivial), and storage inefficiencies

2. Data Architecture & Structuring

• Design scalable enterprise data models and Azure-based data lakes

• Define taxonomy, metadata frameworks, and classification standards

• Establish logical & physical architecture best practices

3. Governance & Compliance

• Build enterprise-wide data governance frameworks

• Define ownership, stewardship, and lifecycle policies

• Ensure regulatory and audit compliance

4. Identity & Access Management (IAM)

• Integrate with SailPoint and enforce RBAC models

• Audit and remediate access risks and legacy permissions

5. Data Security & Risk Management

• Identify and protect sensitive data (PII, financial, confidential)

• Implement encryption, masking, and Zero Trust principles

What We’re Looking For

• 12–15+ years in Data Architecture / Enterprise Data Management

• Strong expertise in SharePoint (On-Prem & Online)

• Hands-on experience with Azure Storage (Blob, Files, Data Lake)

• Proven track record handling large-scale data (100TB–PB level)

• Experience with IAM tools (preferably SailPoint)

• Knowledge of data governance frameworks (DAMA-DMBOK preferred)
