Description:
What You'll Be Doing
- Serve as a discipline design engineer on small to mid-size projects, either as part of a project/organizational team or as the lead engineer for your discipline.
- Provide input, mentorship, and technical guidance to CAD Designers/Drafters, Designers, and junior/mid-level engineers on the project.
- Utilize CAD and other engineering-related software tools proficiently to develop and review design deliverables.
- Support the preparation of detailed technical, commercial, and life cycle cost analyses for various technical alternatives.
- Prepare and deliver clear, detailed technical PowerPoint presentations to clients and stakeholders.
- Develop master plans from concept through detailed design, including:
- HV and LV utility corridor space proofing
- Defining ROW requirements
- Coordinating with wet utilities, ICT, telecom, roads, transportation, landscape, and building design teams
- Prepare master plan reports, perform demand load calculations, size major equipment and circuits, and undertake selective protection coordination and tie-in point requirements.
- Work across all stages of dry utilities and infrastructure projects, from concept to IFC.
- Analyze project requirements for both greenfield and brownfield developments.
- Design street lighting for all road types, including under-bridge and tunnel lighting, as well as tunnel MEP systems, lighting calculations (e.g., Dialux), SLDs, and load schedules.
- Design electrical systems for STPs, RO plants, and stormwater, sewage, and irrigation pumping stations, including lighting, small power, earthing, lightning protection, telecom, security, and fire detection and alarm systems.
- Prepare design reports, technical specifications, tender documents, and secure design approvals across various project phases, coordinating with clients, authorities, and subconsultants.
- Review design reports prepared by other consultants and produce structured design review reports.
- Prepare technical proposals and cost estimates, perform technical evaluation of bids, and develop evaluation reports.
- Coordinate with local authorities to obtain necessary approvals and ensure compliance with standards and regulations.
- Perform value engineering on technical options and prepare value engineering reports with clear recommendations.
- Respond to contractor RFIs, and review and approve key technical submittals related to electrical works and dry utilities.
- Verify clash detection outputs and resolve clashes within 3D models in coordination with the wider design team.
