Description:
We are a young, ambitious, and growing commodity trading and investment company and we are looking for a Senior Finance Executive who reports directly to the Group Finance Manager. The job is located in Dubai. The role may require occasional international travel.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Core Accounting & Financial Operations
- Manage full sets of accounts including AP, AR, general ledger, fixed assets, inventory, and bank reconciliations.
- Update client ledgers, trackers & account statements.
- Manage end to end invoicing process (both clients & suppliers)
- Prepare & send transaction confirmations to clients.
- Oversee employee expense claims, petty cash, and handle end-to-end payroll processing.
- Ensure compliance with local tax, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Handle intercompany transactions and maintain accurate documentation.
- Coordinate internal and external audits across group entities.
- Support all administrative & operational aspects of trading activities.
Reporting & Analysis
- Assist in monthly closing and the preparation of financial, management, and consolidated reports.
- Develop budgets, forecasts, and perform variance & financial analysis on various financial reports.
- Prepare regular updates on status of day to day as well as monthly finance matters
- Support treasury functions including but not limited to cash flow management, banking relationships, FX management and updating of treasury reports.
Process & Systems Management
- Contribute to the implementation and maintenance of ERP, CTRM, and CRM systems.
- Manage purchase requisitions and trading operations documentation.
- Partner with external service providers on secretarial, payroll, tax, and audit matters.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Liaise with banks on account management and transaction matters.
- Act as a point of contact for outsourced agents, including auditor & those supporting payroll, accounting, secretarial, and tax functions.
- Interface with external agencies and regulators to ensure compliance and manage submissions.
- Build strong working relationships across internal teams and external partners.
Administrative & Operational Support
- Provide ad hoc administrative support related to travel bookings, office logistics, and document management.
- Assist in maintaining vendor and external stakeholder relationships.
- Support group level tasks
- Any other ad hoc duties.
Desired Skills
- Experience working in a startup or scale-up environment.
- Strong understanding of commodities trading, preferably in precious metals.
- Hands-on experience with system implementation (ERP/CTRM).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (intermediate to advanced).
- Exposure to FP&A and treasury functions.
- Demonstrated ability to work in fast-paced, international settings.
- Strong Business Partnering Skills
Job Requirements
- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy/Finance and/or a professional accountancy qualification (e.g., ACCA, CPA etc).
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on finance experience with at least 2 years in a commodities company.
- Precious metals experience preferred.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
- Adaptable to a dynamic and fast paced environment.
- Independent, proactive, and highly accountable.
- Excellent communication & interpersonal skills for engagement with stakeholders.
- Fluency in spoken and written English (other language skills such as Arabic are a plus).
