Senior Front-end Developer

Description:

The American University in the Emirates seeks a "Senior Front-End Developer" to build and maintain a functional website for AUE. You will be responsible for both back-end and front-end development including the implementation of WordPress themes and plugins as well as site integration and security updates. We are looking for a candidate who has in-depth knowledge of front-end programming languages, a good eye for aesthetics, strong UI/UX skills, and can thrive in a high-pressure environment.

Ultimately, a top-notch Senior Developer should be able to develop complex and scalable sites, ensure our web pages are up and running, be able to keep up to date with deadlines, and cover all AUE’s internal needs. The candidate will be working under the direction of the creative/strategy head.

Report to: Director of Media & Mass Communication

Salary Package: (8,000-10,000) AED Monthly based on years of experience.

Qualifications & Experience.

• 5+ years of experience as a Web Developer.
• Proven work experience as a WordPress Developer.
• Create wireframes to decide on layout.
• Experience with mockup and UI prototyping tools.
• Good understanding of website architecture and aesthetics.
• Well-versed in WordPress templates and modification/customization to suit design requirements.
• Implement API's
• Experience in designing and developing responsive design websites.
• Experience building user interfaces for websites and/or web applications.
• Experience designing and developing responsive design websites.
• Ability to understand CSS changes and their ramifications to ensure consistent style across platforms and browsers.
• Understanding of security practices.
• Experience with maintaining consistent backups of the entire website.

Job Responsibility:

• Identifying user and system requirements for new websites.
• Develop complex and scalable WordPress sites.
• Design and implement new features and functionality using WordPress.
• Refining website specifications and resolving technical issues, mainly using Wordpress.
• Developing and Implementing WordPress themes and plugins.
• Conducting website performance tests.
• Establish and oversee AUE’s website architecture.
• Help formulate an effective and responsive design into a working theme.
• Responsible of the maintenance and functionality of the entire AUE site.
