We are looking for a creative and enthusiastic Senior Lighting Designer, to round up our talented and dynamic team in Dubai.
This is a role for a senior designer or an experienced intermediate designer, looking to take a step further in your career and join a studio where individual input and an artistic approach to lighting are highly encouraged.
Your profile
You’ll make the ideal candidate if you:
- have an university degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Lighting Design or Product Design;
- have minimum 5 years’ experience in an independent lighting design consultancy, with at least some of that as lead designer on large scale projects;
- are creative and driven to explore out-of-the box lighting concepts;
- are self-motivated and eager to tackle complex, innovative technologies and novel lighting details;
- have good communication skills and enjoy telling stories about light, both verbally and in writing;
- have sharpened your project management skills, with focus on time and task management, aimed to meet strict deadlines;
- have strong technical knowledge about luminaires, accessories and lighting controls;
- are familiar with the industry’s standards and guidelines for best practice and health&safety;
- have an eye for clean, refined graphics, as well as architectural hand-sketching skills;
- are proficient in InDesign, Photoshop, Dialux Evo, AutoCAD and Office suite.
About the role
As a senior designer, you will:
- work alongside our directors, associates and fellow designers to conceptualize and implement ingenious lighting solutions for avant-garde architecture;
- ensure you identify and organize all the steps and tasks necessary to implement the lighting concept into a viable lighting scheme;
- manage a team of intermediate and junior designers, BIM architects and 3D visualizers;
- lead coordination workshops with the projects’ architects and other consultants;
- liaise with manufacturers, suppliers and contractors to organize tests, samples and mock-up reviews;
- be available to travel abroad for project supervision and commissioning;
- work within the parameters laid out by the Dark Sky Association, to ensure a high quality of the visual environment and avoid artificial light pollution.
