Description:

As a Senior Process Planning Engineer in the Radiator Manufacturing division, you will play a critical role in optimizing and enhancing the manufacturing processes for radiators. You will be responsible for creating, improving, and implementing efficient production processes while ensuring the highest quality standards. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will contribute to the development of innovative manufacturing solutions that align with industry best practices.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Analyze existing manufacturing processes for radiators and identify opportunities for improvement in terms of efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and quality.
  • Develop and implement process plans, work instructions, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for radiator production, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with design, engineering, and production teams to provide input during product development to ensure manufacturability and cost-effectiveness.
  • Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) software to model and simulate production processes, optimizing layouts and sequences.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives, identifying bottlenecks, waste, and inefficiencies, and proposing and implementing solutions to enhance overall productivity.
  • Monitor production metrics and analyze data to identify trends, address issues, and propose corrective actions.
  • Utilize ERP data to ensure capacity utilization aligns with target goals, making adjustments as necessary to meet production objectives.
  • Train and mentor junior process planning engineers and manufacturing personnel, ensuring consistent understanding and implementation of process plans.
  • Collaborate with procurement to source and evaluate new equipment, tools, and technologies that can improve manufacturing processes.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams for new product introductions, providing insights into production feasibility, process capabilities, and resource requirements.
  • Need to prepare daily / weekly / Monthly production planning

Key Performance Indicators:

  • Cycle time reduction for radiator manufacturing processes.
  • Scrap and rework reduction through improved process planning.
  • Adherence to production schedules and delivery deadlines.
  • Increase in overall manufacturing efficiency and throughput.
  • Implementation of successful continuous improvement projects.
  • Quality improvements measured through decreased defects and customer complaints.
  • Effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Timely completion of process planning documentation and work instructions.
  • Training effectiveness for junior engineers and production personnel.
  • In-depth knowledge of radiator manufacturing process

Desired Skills for the Position:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Proven experience (5+ years) in process planning and manufacturing engineering within the radiator manufacturing industry or closely related field.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, lean principles, and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • In-depth knowledge of radiator manufacturing materials, techniques, and technologies.
  • Experience with ERP systems and the ability to analyze ERP data to ensure capacity utilization aligns with target goals.
  • In-depth knowledge of ISO documentation
