Senior Procurement Engineer

Description:

Al Ambaar, a well-established MEP trading company based in Al Barsha, Dubai, is seeking a Senior Procurement Engineer to join their procurement team. This is a full-time position ideal for experienced professionals with deep technical knowledge of MEP systems and strong global sourcing expertise.

The Senior Procurement Engineer will be responsible for handling international and local procurement tasks (80% global and 20% local), managing supplier relationships, and supporting project teams in all procurement-related activities. The ideal candidate should be proactive, commercially astute, and capable of independently driving procurement functions in a dynamic business environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Source and evaluate global and local suppliers, negotiate favorable contract terms.

• Lead both technical and commercial negotiations with vendors.

• Manage supplier relationships and assess new sourcing opportunities across regions (Europe, US, Asia).

• Collaborate closely with project teams to address procurement and supply chain challenges.

• Oversee procurement processes for mechanical equipment including:

  • Hot Water Heat Pumps

  • Boilers and Calorifiers

  • PRVs, PICVs, TMVs

  • Digital Control Valves

  • Swimming Pool & Solar Heating Systems

• Ensure timely procurement and delivery while maintaining cost efficiency and compliance.

• Utilize SAP procurement modules for documentation and workflow management.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.

• 8 to 10 years of relevant procurement experience within the MEP or HVAC industry.

• Extensive global sourcing experience.

• Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.

• Familiarity with mechanical product categories as listed above.

• Proficient in SAP procurement systems (preferred).

• Must be based in the UAE or willing to relocate.

• Strong communication, project coordination, and problem-solving abilities.

• Proactive and detail-oriented with both technical and commercial acumen.
