Job Description:

The Social Worker Teacher will provide a combination of counseling, support, and educational services to students, helping them develop the skills necessary for academic success and emotional well-being. This position combines elements of social work with teaching and will involve working closely with students, parents, and faculty to create an environment of care and support.

Responsibilities:

• Provide individual and group counseling to students, addressing emotional, social, and behavioral issues.
• Develop and deliver lessons that promote social-emotional learning and positive mental health.
• Work collaboratively with teachers and school staff to create individualized plans to support students.
• Coordinate and lead workshops or group sessions on topics such as conflict resolution, bullying prevention, and coping strategies.
• Serve as a liaison between students, parents, and community resources.
• Assist in crisis intervention when necessary and help develop strategies for managing student behavior.
• Maintain confidential records and documents in compliance with school policies and regulations.

Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) or related field (required).
• Bachelor degree in Social Work .
• Certification or licensure as a Social Worker (depending on state/local requirements).
• Previous experience working with students in an educational setting preferred.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Ability to build rapport with students and staff, fostering a supportive and positive environment.
• Knowledge of social-emotional learning techniques and strategies.
• Patience, empathy, and a commitment to supporting students’ well-being.
