Technical Operations Engineer

A leading systematic trading firm is looking for a Technical Operations Engineer to join their Abu Dhabi office.

This is a high-visibility role sitting at the intersection of trading and engineering - where your work directly underpins the stability and performance of live trading systems. Flat structure, elite peers, and zero bureaucratic noise.

You'll be the first line of defence for mission-critical infrastructure, working hand-in-hand with trading and engineering teams to keep systems running at their best - and building the tooling to make sure issues don't happen twice.

What You'll Do

• Monitor, investigate, and resolve production issues across live trading infrastructure with a proactive, ownership mindset
• Own end-to-end incident management - from rapid response through to post-incident reviews and preventative action
• Automate daily operational tasks and extend monitoring and observability tooling to sharpen system visibility
• Coordinate with exchanges, brokers, and vendors to manage connectivity, integrations, and system changes
• Collaborate with engineering teams to optimise performance and manage change control processes

What They're Looking For

• 3+ years supporting trading systems, with solid Unix/Linux knowledge and hands-on Bash and Python scripting
• Strong grasp of core trading concepts - orders, executions, FIX protocol, market data, and exchange connectivity
• Proficient in SQL and comfortable making live database changes under pressure
• Familiar with networking fundamentals - TCP/IP, multicast, DNS, and network troubleshooting
• A calm, sharp problem-solver who communicates clearly and thrives in a fast-moving, high-stakes environment
