Key Duties And Responsibilities

  • Installs supports for pipes, equipment, and fixtures prior to installation
  • Assembles fittings and valves for installation
  • Tests plumbing systems for leaks and other problems
  • Analyses problem and identifies appropriate tools and materials for repair
  • Performs inspections of plumbing systems to identify and replace worn parts
  • Knowledge of plumbing repairs, maintenance, and installation techniques
  • Determine sources of plumbing malfunctions and complete repairs as indicated or according to work orders.
  • Install and repair pipes, fittings, valves, fixtures, and plumbing system equipment, including sinks, commodes, water heaters, water softeners, etc.
  • Repair dishwashers and kitchen equipment that incorporate gas or water consumption.
  • Respond to emergency calls as needed.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on tools and equipment.
  • Requires flexibility and understanding that all maintenance staff may be required to perform duties outside their normal area of expertise to meet the mission and goals of the Engineering Department.
  • Ability to handle plumbing tools and equipment (pipe wrenches, pipe cutters, plungers etc.)
  • Repair and replace system issues such as clogged drains, faucet problems, broken drainage lines and so on
  • Troubleshoot and fix issues relating to water supply lines
  • Measure, cut and bend pipe material
  • Ensures safe working condition and reports to senior colleagues for unsafe working conditions.
  • Advises the supervisor promptly of any problems.
  • Ensures that work areas are left in a safe working condition
  • Works in own initiative without full supervision or direction
  • Requests support, direction and assistance as needed or required by situation and work.
  • Assists other technician when require.
  • Be familiar and comply with all relevant Engineering Department policies, processes and procedures
  • Keeps and maintains company assets in working conditions
  • Controlling wastage.
  • Contributing to cost savings.
  • Power saving / cost control/ recycling

Skills, Experience & Educational Requirements

  • Diploma
  • Technical and Plumbing training and certification
  • 2 – 3 years’ experience in Hospitality Industry.
