Key Duties And Responsibilities
- Installs supports for pipes, equipment, and fixtures prior to installation
- Assembles fittings and valves for installation
- Tests plumbing systems for leaks and other problems
- Analyses problem and identifies appropriate tools and materials for repair
- Performs inspections of plumbing systems to identify and replace worn parts
- Knowledge of plumbing repairs, maintenance, and installation techniques
- Determine sources of plumbing malfunctions and complete repairs as indicated or according to work orders.
- Install and repair pipes, fittings, valves, fixtures, and plumbing system equipment, including sinks, commodes, water heaters, water softeners, etc.
- Repair dishwashers and kitchen equipment that incorporate gas or water consumption.
- Respond to emergency calls as needed.
- Perform preventive maintenance on tools and equipment.
- Requires flexibility and understanding that all maintenance staff may be required to perform duties outside their normal area of expertise to meet the mission and goals of the Engineering Department.
- Ability to handle plumbing tools and equipment (pipe wrenches, pipe cutters, plungers etc.)
- Repair and replace system issues such as clogged drains, faucet problems, broken drainage lines and so on
- Troubleshoot and fix issues relating to water supply lines
- Measure, cut and bend pipe material
- Ensures safe working condition and reports to senior colleagues for unsafe working conditions.
- Advises the supervisor promptly of any problems.
- Ensures that work areas are left in a safe working condition
- Works in own initiative without full supervision or direction
- Requests support, direction and assistance as needed or required by situation and work.
- Assists other technician when require.
- Be familiar and comply with all relevant Engineering Department policies, processes and procedures
- Keeps and maintains company assets in working conditions
- Controlling wastage.
- Contributing to cost savings.
- Power saving / cost control/ recycling
Skills, Experience & Educational Requirements
- Diploma
- Technical and Plumbing training and certification
- 2 – 3 years’ experience in Hospitality Industry.
