Description:
To provide engineering support and field supervision for Telecom and Extra-Low Voltage (ELV) systems during installation, testing, and commissioning stages of Oil & Gas projects. The role ensures that all telecom/ELV works are executed in compliance with approved design, standards, and client specifications.
Key Responsibilities
1. Site Activities
• Supervise installation, termination, and testing of Telecom and ELV systems such as Fiber optic and copper cabling networks, CCTV, Access Control, PAGA, IP Telephony, Structured cabling, and AV systems.
• Conduct site inspections and verify installation against approved drawings, ITPs, and method statements.
• Coordinate with other disciplines (Electrical, Instrumentation, Civil, Mechanical) for interface activities.
• Ensure adherence to HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) requirements during site works.
• Support pre-commissioning and commissioning activities — loop checks, configuration, and system testing.
• Participate in site acceptance tests (SAT) and handover documentation.
• Monitor subcontractor performance and ensure work progress matches the project schedule.
• Report any site deviations, quality issues, or material shortages to the Telecom Lead Engineer.
2. Engineering Support
• Review design drawings, single-line diagrams, and cable schedules for site implementation.
• Provide engineering clarifications and technical support for site teams.
• Prepare and update red-marked drawings and as-built documentation.
• Support the preparation of method statements, installation procedures, and test reports.
• Coordinate with vendors for configuration, FAT/SAT, and troubleshooting of telecom/ELV equipment.
• Evaluate material submittals and ensure conformity with project specifications.
• Assist in preparing progress reports, inspection requests (RFI), and engineering transmittals.
• Interface with client representatives during inspections, testing, and final approvals.
Qualifications & Experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in Telecommunications, Electronics, Electrical, or Instrumentation Engineering.
• 5+years of experience in Telecom / ELV engineering within the Oil & Gas or Industrial sector.
• Hands-on experience in site installation, testing, and commissioning of telecom/ELV systems.
• Familiarity with ADNOC EPC project standards.
• Proficient in MS Office, AutoCAD, and network configuration basics.
• Good understanding of project workflows, documentation, and quality control procedures.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills with multi-disciplinary teams and subcontractors.
• UAE driving license is an added advantage.
Key Competencies
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting ability.
• Knowledge of fiber splicing, OTDR testing, and network configuration.
• Understanding of IP-based CCTV, PAGA, and Access Control systems.
• Familiar with testing tools and certification procedures (Fluke, OTDR, etc.).
• Commitment to HSE and quality standards.
Work Conditions
• Site-based role with possible travel between project locations (onshore/offshore).
• Requires coordination with client, consultant, and main contractor teams.
• Must be willing to work extended hours or shifts during commissioning phases.
