Warehouse Manager

Description:

We are seeking an effective and experienced Warehouse Manager to oversee our distribution operations. Your duties will include directing receipt of goods, ensuring safe storage, and managing staff when picking and preparing products for despatch. The successful candidate will have excellent organizational skills and ensure that productivity targets are achieved thru effective management.

Responsibilities:

Overseeing receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations.

Implementing operational policies and procedures.

Implementing and overseeing security operations.

Ensuring effective and safe use of warehouse equipment.

Ensuring the safety of staff.

Audit and report inventory while making recommendations on which items to order and restock

Assigning work schedules and timesheets to Warehouse Workers, and preparing a list of outgoing shipments

Issuing lists of incoming items and shipments, and handing them over to the receiving personnel

Develop warehouse operations systems by determining product handling and storage requirements, equipment utilization, inventory, gate processes, and shipping methods

Ensuring a well-coordinated reception of all materials, items, and products, and making sure they are sorted, labelled, and stored per company standards and policies

Maintaining documentation and keeping accurate records of warehouse activities.

Maintaining awareness and knowledge of the condition and location of fleet vehicles.

Assisting with deliveries where required.

Requirements and skills:

Minimum of 5 years of warehouse management experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Expertise in warehouse management procedures and best practices.

Proven ability to implement process improvement initiatives

Strong knowledge of warehousing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

Hands on experience with warehouse management software and databases.

Leadership skills and ability manage staff.

Strong decision making and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication skills.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Logistics, or relevant fields.
