Key Responsibilities:
- The role requires working closely with family office for private equity and credit opportunities.
- Assessment and execution of transactions in Eastern Europe and West Africa, across existing & new sectors.
- Execute the M&A project management processes including due diligence, negotiations, transaction closing, supporting the country and business unit heads.
- Help screen advisors for transactions including negotiating mandate letters, agreements with advisors, etc.
- Plan and direct due diligence activities across all functional areas of any transaction inclusive of commercial, financial, products, operations, technology, sales and marketing (e.g., competitive analysis, to enable informed decision-making for M&A transactions)
- Negotiate terms with counter parties (term sheets, agreements, etc.), direct lawyers in drawing up sale purchase and shareholder and other relevant agreements
- Oversee detailed target analysis including operating plans, business plans and financial models, benchmarking for various businesses.
- Lead the preparation of detailed financial models, perform business/asset valuation using precedent transactions, comparable company analysis, and discounted cash flow analysis. Collaborate with leadership teams of existing businesses to identify new investment/acquisition opportunities and lead transactions on their behalf.
Requirements (Skills / Competencies)
- Bachelors Degree/ Masters Degree in the relevant field
- Family Office experience is a must
- 10+ years of corporate M&A experience, ideally in multiple countries
- Outstanding analytical and advisory skills.
- Able to lead deliverables and also collaborate across the team
- Comfortable in conducting both primary (interviews, surveys) and secondary (desk-based) market research
- Strong competence in financial modeling, valuation, due diligence, creative commercial thinking
