Deputy Head

 

Description:

The Corporate Security & Regional Head Security - MENA will assist the Chief Security and Vigilance Officer by overseeing the implementation of security programs and serving as the primary point of support. Additionally, this role involves providing expert guidance to regional teams and Enabling Units on security matters, ensuring compliance and effectively addressing security needs across the assigned regions.

 

Corporate Security Strategy and Operations

  • Support the Chief Security and Vigilance Officer in implementing and aligning security strategies with business objectives.
  • Define security goals, objectives, and metrics; develop global policies, standards, and risk management frameworks.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and provide security guidance to the business.
  • Oversee physical security operations at Visa Application Centers (VACs) and offices ensuring the protection of employees, customers, physical assets, and information.
  • Conduct security risk assessments for new projects and manage security threat analysis, decision-making, and resource allocation.
  • Lead incident and crisis response planning in collaboration with the Business Continuity Management team to ensure effective crisis management.

 

Stakeholder Collaboration and Risk Mitigation

  • Maintain relationships with government bodies, law enforcement, security providers, and industry groups to assess threats and enforce best practices.
  • Lead and coordinate a global network of Corporate Security professionals and manage partnerships with international security consultants.
  • Plan and oversee security audits, training, and awareness programs, including budget management and professional development.
  • Supervise Regional Security Heads and Managers to ensure the safety of employees, visitors, and company assets.

 

Technology, Compliance, and Reporting

  • Design, implement, and manage security systems at VACs based on risk and business criticality, ensuring adherence to internal and client policies.
  • Manage Regional Security Operations Centers (RSOCs) and maintain automated security infrastructure.
  • Lead security budgets, investigate breaches, support disciplinary processes, and ensure corrective actions are taken.
  • Collaborate with Technical Security Services to identify and address infrastructure gaps and implement new security architectures aligned with country risk profiles.

 

Regional Security Management

  • Act as Corporate Security liaison within the region, managing security, fraud prevention, and vigilance activities.
  • Coordinate with local authorities, project teams, and operations for security rollouts and ongoing management.
  • Deploy and monitor security personnel performance to maintain smooth operations and high customer satisfaction.
  • Monitor geopolitical and disaster-related risks and communicate updates to relevant teams.
  • Manage MIS reporting on security performance and assist in emergency management, business continuity, and crisis planning.

 

Risk Assessment and Mitigation

  • Conduct operational risk assessments for new VACs and secure passport/visa form movements.
  • Coordinate threat risk ratings and recommend appropriate security countermeasures.
  • Lead internal risk assessment audits in accordance with schedules.

 

Security Budget and Procedures

  • Develop and manage the regional security budget and sustain Security Operations Centers.
  • Integrate security procedures to deliver cost-effective, high-quality services.
  • Ensure critical service levels and contractual obligations are met, with regular reporting on performance indicators.

 

Team Management & Succession Planning

  • Manage and develop staff, including performance management, training, and career development.
  • Create and maintain a robust talent pipeline to ensure succession planning (1:2 ratio).

 

Environment, Social & Governance

  • Oversee corporate governance within the assigned region, ensuring alignment with organisational principles, policies, and regulations.
  • Promote judicious use of natural resources and adhere to the organisation's environment, health, and safety policies, objectives, and guidelines.
  • Drive the organisation's sustainability initiatives, working towards achieving established targets.

Education

  • Graduate, Postgraduate or Global Equivalent Degree.

 

Experience

  • 15- 20 years of experience working in investigative and security roles within law enforcement, the armed forces, and/or corporate security.
  • Membership in international security associations and groups, with additional certifications in Information Security, Fraud/Investigations, and Project Management recommended.
