Parsons is seeking an experienced Deputy Technical Manager to join our team. In this role, you will develop, manage, and coordinate the design and technical delivery of project packages across multidisciplinary projects. You will work with relevant parties to monitor and report on the technical team’s progress for all required deliverables.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Keep track of all scope changes and ensure that the change control and technical query processes are followed and communicated fully on all projects.
- Provide clear and concise information about any remaining risks that the construction teams need to know
- Ensure pre-construction information and design risk assessments are completed and are compliant with Construction Methodology.
- Support the application of Engineering Practices and Codes, ensuring that designs are driven by standard products wherever possible.
- Provide technical oversight by reviewing and approving technical submissions, shop drawings, method statements, material submittals, and RFIs; ensuring compliance with project specifications, codes, standards, and authority requirements; and delivering technical guidance and solutions to site supervision teams.
- Manage design coordination by reviewing IFC drawings, aligning interfaces across various disciplines, liaising with designers, contractors, and clients, and evaluating design changes and value engineering proposals.
- Oversee authority and stakeholder coordination by engaging with local authorities, utility agencies, and stakeholders; facilitating approvals, permits, and NOCs; and ensuring timely and compliant project execution.
- Prepare technical reports, presentations, and management summaries; report project status, risks, and technical concerns to senior management and clients; and maintain accurate records of approvals, correspondence, and technical decisions to ensure clear documentation and traceability throughout the project lifecycle.
What Required Skills You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Electrical, Mechanical or a related discipline from an accredited university.
- Over 15 years of experience in design, including 10 years in technical coordination roles for site infrastructure and landscape projects.
- Proven experience managing multidisciplinary design teams in large-scale projects.
- Strong understanding of relevant codes, standards, and regulatory frameworks.
- Excellent communication, presentation and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to manage multiple design packages and deliverables simultaneously.
