Description:
As Director of Capital Markets, you'll be the go-to expert for sourcing, structuring, and securing financing for our portfolio. Reporting directly to the CEO/CDO, you'll own the end-to-end process of raising debt and equity capital from banks, institutional investors, family offices, and high-net-worth individuals. This is a high-impact, remote role ideal for a self-starter with a proven track record in real estate finance.
Key Responsibilities
- Source and negotiate debt financing (construction loans, bridge, permanent, mezzanine) and equity partnerships for acquisitions, developments, and refinancings.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with lenders, investors, and capital partners; manage investor pipelines and communications.
- Structure optimal capital stacks to maximize returns while minimizing risk; prepare term sheets, loan documents, and investment memos.
- Monitor existing debt portfolio: handle compliance, refinancings, extensions, and exits.
- Analyze market trends in real estate lending and capital markets; provide strategic recommendations to the executive team and investment committee.
- Collaborate with acquisitions, asset management, and legal teams on due diligence and closings.
- Lead preparation of marketing materials, investor presentations, and fundraising updates.
- Supervise junior analysts/associates on modeling and financing packages (as team grows).
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in real estate capital markets, investment banking, debt/equity placement, or private equity real estate.
- Existing network of capital providers and Family Offices is a MUST
- Proven track record of closing $30M+ in real estate debt/equity transactions.
- Deep knowledge of real estate financing structures, lenders (banks, CMBS, life companies, debt funds), and investor landscapes.
- Strong financial modeling skills (Argus, Excel) and ability to underwrite complex deals.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Real Estate, Business, or related; MBA/CFA/CCIM a plus.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial remote environment.
