Description:
The Document Controller will manage and control all technical and commercial documentation for interior fit-out projects, ensuring proper filing, version control, and timely distribution to the project team. The role is within an interior fit-out environment and requires someone who can join immediately and work closely with project, site, and design teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and maintain an organized document control system (soft and hard copies) for interior fit-out projects.
- Receive, log, track, and distribute drawings, RFIs, submittals, material approvals, contracts, and correspondence.
- Manage document numbering, revisions, and status to ensure only latest approved documents are issued to site.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors for timely submission, review, and approval of documents.
- Maintain document registers and generate periodic document status reports for management.
- Archive and secure documents in line with company, project, and audit requirements.
Qualifications & Skills
- Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 2–4 years’ experience as a Document Controller in an interior fit-out, joinery, or construction company in the UAE.
- Strong understanding of construction/fit-out documentation (drawings, RFIs, submittals, material approvals, method statements).
- Experience with Procore, Aconex, Autodesk, or similar EDMS/document management platforms.
- Proficient in MS Office and document management systems; comfortable handling high document volumes.
- Strong organization, accuracy, and attention to detail; good communication skills in English (Arabic is an advantage).
