At Howler Pets, we believe that caring for dogs is a calling, not just a business. We're a
comprehensive dog services hub in Al Ain, and the only place in the region that brings together
professional training across all levels, ACRA-certified hydrotherapy and post-surgical rehabilitation,
an on-site Medical Care Unit modelled on a human high-care facility, post-surgical medical
transport, emotional support dog breeding, and a working adoptions programme, all under one
roof.
Our team is multi-national, internationally credentialed, and we communicate in both English and
Arabic. We're looking for a Dog Handler with grooming experience to join us on the floor, someone
who's confident, calm, and genuinely loves being around dogs of all shapes, sizes, and
temperaments. This is a hands-on role: you'll be working with our dogs every day, handling them
across the facility, and keeping them looking and feeling their best through regular grooming.
If you're the kind of person who lights up around dogs, reads their body language naturally, and
takes pride in a clean, well-cared-for coat, we'd love to hear from you.
What You'll Be Doing
• Handling dogs of all sizes and temperaments safely and calmly throughout the day, across
training, boarding, and rehabilitation areas
• Providing grooming services: bathing, brushing, coat conditioning, nail trimming, ear cleaning,
and breed-specific clips where needed
• Monitoring dog behaviour and body language, flagging any health or behavioural concerns to
our trainers, rehab staff, or medical team
• Maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable kennel and grooming environment
• Supporting our trainers, hydrotherapy practitioners, and Medical Care Unit team as needed.
This is a collaborative facility, and we all pitch in
• Helping with daily routines: feeding, exercising, and supervising dogs in our care
• Assisting with intake and handover of dogs arriving for training, boarding, or post-surgical
recovery
• Contributing to our working adoptions programme and welfare initiatives where opportunities
arise
What We're Looking For• Confident, calm handler who is comfortable around dogs of all sizes and temperaments, from
small companion breeds to large working dogs
• Hands-on grooming experience: bathing, brushing, clipping, nail trimming, and basic coat care
• Solid understanding of dog behaviour and body language. You know when a dog is stressed,
overstimulated, or needs a break
• Comfortable working in a kennel and boarding environment
• Team player who communicates well and is happy to support trainers, rehab staff, and the
medical team when needed
• Genuine animal-welfare mindset. You believe, like we do, that a trained, well-cared-for dog is
less likely to end up on the streets or in a shelter
• Based in the UAE or willing to relocate to Al Ain
Nice-to-Haves
• Experience with breed-specific grooming cuts and styling
• Bilingual in English and Arabic
• Formal grooming certification or animal-care diploma
• Previous experience in a multi-service facility (training, boarding, veterinary, or rehab)
• Rescue, shelter, or welfare volunteering background
• International experience working with dogs
