Fleet Officer

 

Description:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Fleet Officer to manage and oversee all aspects of our vehicle fleet. The ideal candidate will ensure optimal vehicle performance, compliance with regulations, and efficient fleet operations. Strong technical knowledge, particularly of German vehicles, is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

1.⁠ ⁠Vehicle Maintenance & Servicing:

o Oversee regular maintenance and timely servicing of all company vehicles.

o Coordinate with workshops and service centers for repairs and preventive maintenance.

2.⁠ ⁠Fleet Tracking:

o Monitor and track fleet usage, mileage, and location through GPS or fleet management systems.

o Generate reports on vehicle utilization and performance.

3.⁠ ⁠Vehicle Registration & Documentation:

o Ensure all vehicles are properly registered and compliant with local regulations.

o Maintain up-to-date records of insurance, permits, and related documents.

4.⁠ ⁠Fuel Management:

o Monitor fuel consumption and manage fuel distribution efficiently.

o Identify ways to reduce fuel costs and prevent misuse.

5.⁠ ⁠Safety & Compliance:

o Enforce strict adherence to safety standards and regulatory requirements.

o Conduct periodic inspections to ensure vehicles are roadworthy.

6.⁠ ⁠Fleet Scheduling & Dispatching:

o Plan and schedule vehicle allocation for operational needs.

o Coordinate with various departments to ensure timely availability of vehicles.

 

Technical Skills:

•⁠ ⁠Strong understanding of vehicle systems: engines, transmission, braking, suspension, electrical, electronics, cooling, and fuel systems.

•⁠ ⁠Knowledge of air conditioning and HVAC systems.

•⁠ ⁠Expertise in German vehicle brands: Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Audi, Volkswagen, Porsche.

•⁠ ⁠Experience with brand-specific diagnostic tools (e.g., BMW ISTA, Mercedes Xentry/DAS, Audi VAG-COM).

•⁠ ⁠Ability to troubleshoot and maintain vehicles according to manufacturer standards.

•⁠ ⁠Familiarity with fleet management software and preventive maintenance scheduling.

 

Requirements:

•⁠ ⁠Proven experience as a Fleet Officer or similar role.

•⁠ ⁠Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

•⁠ ⁠Knowledge of local traffic regulations and compliance standards.

• Applicants must be Sri Lankan nationals

 

Education & Certification:

•⁠ ⁠Diploma or degree in Automotive Engineering, Logistics, or related field preferred.

•⁠ ⁠Valid driving license is an advantage.
