Description:
This is a hands-on leadership role requiring close involvement in the day-to-day academic and operational life of the school.
While the student body is small, the level of personalisation, precision, and parent expectation is high. Each student follows a Personalised Learning Plan, and the Head of Micro-School plays a central role in ensuring its consistent and effective implementation.
This is not a traditional administrative leadership role. It requires someone who is comfortable working closely with teachers, students, and families on a daily basis.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day academic and operational running of the micro-school
- Ensure high-quality implementation of personalised learning plans across all students
- Provide instructional coaching and ongoing feedback to teachers
- Oversee student progress, assessment, and reporting
- Manage timetabling, scheduling, and daily operations
- Maintain strong parent communication and relationships in a high-expectation environment
- Ensure consistency in behaviour expectations, routines, and safeguarding
- Contribute to the continued development of a high-performance, student-centred culture
Candidate Profile
- 5–10 years of leadership experience, typically as a Head of Primary, Deputy Head, Assistant Head, or Phase Leader
- Strong background in Primary and/or Lower Secondary education (ages 6–14)
- Experience in high-performing independent or international schools ("Outstanding" or "Very Good" KHDA Ratings)
- Demonstrated strength in instructional leadership and classroom practice
- Comfortable working in a small, fast-paced, highly personalised environment
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail, structure, and follow-through
- Confident in working with highly engaged and demanding parent communities
- Adaptable, hands-on, and willing to take ownership across multiple areas
