Key Responsibilities

A. Interface Identification & Coordination

·      Identify and manage technical, physical, functional and operational interfaces between all disciplines, contractors, work packages, existing airport systems and new installations.

·      Establish and maintain the Interface Register, clearly defining responsibilities, dependencies, target dates, risks and status.

·      Develop and manage Interface Control Documents (ICDs), battery limits and responsibility matrices where required.

·      Coordinate resolution of scope gaps and overlaps between packages.

·      Ensure interface milestones and dependencies are incorporated into the relevant design, procurement and construction programs.

·      Provide early warning of unresolved interfaces that may affect the critical path, cost, quality, commissioning or airport operations.

B. Integration & Technical Support

Review design drawings, shop drawings, and as-built documentation to verify consistency across disciplines.
Review design drawings, shop drawings, BIM models and technical submissions to verify multidisciplinary and cross-package integration.
Ensure compatibility between structural, architectural, MEP, ICT, airport special systems and operational systems.
Coordinate integration between new systems and existing airport infrastructure and operational facilities.
Support preparation and maintenance of an Integration and Commissioning Interface Matrix.
Verify that interface requirements are reflected in testing, pre-commissioning, Systems Integration Testing, commissioning and ORAT activities.
Ensure technical interface resolutions are incorporated into approved design and construction documentation before implementation.


C. Documentation & Reporting

Maintain an updated interface and integration register for all contractors and work packages.
Track the status of interface resolutions, outstanding technical queries, and integration approvals.
Prepare regular reports and dashboards highlighting interface issues, progress, and risks.
Support the QA/QC and HSE teams by ensuring that integration considerations are documented in inspections and risk assessments.
Ensure proper filing and traceability of interface-related documentation through Document Control (e.g., Aconex).


D. Risk Management & Issue Resolution

Identify potential technical conflicts or risks due to integration gaps and propose mitigation measures.
Liaise with Resident Engineers, Design Consultants, Engineers and Contractors to resolve interface issues efficiently.
Participate in coordination meetings, design review sessions, and technical workshops to ensure proactive resolution of interface conflicts.
Ensure interface closure is not based solely on correspondence, but on approved documentation, implementation and testing where applicable.
Support the preparation of lessons learned and continuous improvement for interface management practices.


E. Cross-Discipline Collaboration

Serve as the primary technical liaison between contractors for interface and integration matters.
Ensure that all discipline teams are aware of their responsibilities and deadlines for interface resolution.
Support the supervision team in ensuring that integration activities align with schedule and quality requirements.
Facilitate coordination between commissioning teams and contractors to ensure smooth system integration.


F. Support to Supervision & Client

Assist the supervision team and client in verifying that integration requirements are being properly addressed.
Provide technical recommendations for design changes or modifications to improve integration.
Support technical reviews and presentations for client meetings related to system integration and interface management.


Qualifications & Experience

·      Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering discipline.

·      7–10 years of experience in construction projects, with at least 3 years in a supervision or consultancy role.

·      Airport experience is a MUST.

·      Proven experience in interface and system integration management across multi-disciplinary construction projects.

·      Familiarity with multi-contractor environments and experience managing complex interfaces.

·      Knowledge of project management, design review processes, and technical coordination.

·      Familiarity with Document Management Systems (Aconex, SharePoint, or equivalent).

·      Strong analytical, problem-solving, and report-writing skills.

·      Excellent communication and stakeholder coordination abilities.

Client satisfaction with interface management and technical coordination.
Number of cross-disciplinary coordination meetings facilitated and documented.
