Description:

The role of the Investor Relations professional is to service the information, data, reporting and analytics requirements of clients and investors, ensuring timely, objective and transparent delivery. He/She is also responsible for the firm’s image, reputation and brand, will be required to work with the CEO and sales team to provide a clear communications strategy, through marketing, media/PR, conferences and social media. The Investor Relations professional reports directly to the CEO, and works closely with all departments; investment, operations, risk, finance, legal and sales teams.

 

Interactions will be with:

  • External (clients): SWF, pension funds, financial institutions, endowments and foundation, HNWI, family offices and investment consultants/advisors
  • External (Service providers): Custodians, administrators, brokers, auditors, data providers (Evestment, Bloomberg, Reuters, Preqin, etc.)
  • Internal: Operations, risk, finance, legal, compliance and sales teams

 

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Being the first point of call for clients and investors when they require fund/portfolio reporting, data, analytics and any other quantitative or qualitative information.

 

  • Providing accurate timely reporting including:
  • Monthly Fund & Portfolio Reporting: produce fund newsletters for distribution to clients. Production of these newsletter requires the understanding of complex ratios and formulae to calculate risk and performance statistics such as Sharpe/Sortino ratios, standard deviation, drawdowns, up/down capture etc.
  • Weekly Fund and Portfolio Reports: Provide weekly updates to investors, which range from providing net performance estimates, to more complex reports such as net position appraisals, daily cumulative TWR reports and portfolio holdings summary

 

  • Preparing fund and portfolio presentations: Each strategy has a marketing presentation which is used to update existing investors and to also market to prospective investors. The presentations are a combination of quantitative or qualitative information, which the Investor Relations professional collects from his/her monthly reporting packs and with the input of the Head of Research and investment team (when company data, financials and case studies require updating).

 

  • Managing investment and operational due diligence processes. The requirement is for the Investor Relations professional to draft/coordinate/collate responses to questionnaires and RFIs for existing clients, prospects, allocators/consultants.

 

  • Providing sales support by providing analytics requested by prospective investors, recording correspondence and ensuring follow-ups are delivered. Ensuring data and information recorded on the firm’s CRM system (Backstop) is timely and up to date, carrying out data cleansing, data analysis, and working with the sales team to ensure pipeline and meeting notes are added to the CRM

 

  • Managing digital marketing initiatives including webinars (once per month), website and LinkedIn. Managing PR for the firm

 

  • Monitoring global consultant database and platforms and ensuring the firms’ data (performance and AUM statistics) is kept up to date.

 

  • Assisting with all ancillary tasks including:
  • Daily AUM analysis: run a consolidated daily AUM report for the firm’s management.
  • Report AUMs and performance to the firm’s shareholders and board of directors (quarterly).
  • ESG reporting (quarterly and annual UNPRI reporting).
  • Work with the fund/portfolios custodians/administrators to ensure client records are kept in good order to ensure compliance with the legal and regulatory framework around KYC and AML.
  • Support clients in any processes such as subscriptions, redemptions, top-ups, reporting for their annual financial audit, regulatory reporting, transparency reporting, tax reporting etc.

 

SKILLS and Qualification Requirements:

  • Bachelors/Master’s degree in a mathematical or social science discipline; e.g. mathematics, economics, engineering, law, finance, accounting etc.
  • 5+ years’ experience working in an asset management firm
  • Knowledge of public equities and fixed income
  • Must be a clear and professional communicator
  • Must be detail oriented
