Music Teacher

Description:

We are seeking a passionate and creative Music Teacher to inspire students through engaging music education aligned with the British Curriculum. The successful candidate will nurture students’ musical abilities, encourage creativity, and contribute actively to concerts, performances, and wider performing arts activities within the school.

Key Responsibilities:
Teaching & Learning:
* Plan and deliver engaging music lessons aligned with the National Curriculum for England.
* Teach core musical skills including rhythm, pitch, notation, composition, listening, and performance.
* Introduce students to a variety of musical genres, cultures, and historical contexts.
* Differentiate instruction to support students of varying abilities and learning styles.

Performance & Ensemble Development:
* Prepare students for school concerts, assemblies, productions, and performances.
* Lead and develop choirs, ensembles, or musical groups within the school.
* Support the Performing Arts Department in organizing musical performances and events throughout the academic year.

Student Development:
* Identify and nurture students with musical interest and talent.
* Encourage participation in solo and group performances.
* Promote confidence, creativity, and appreciation for music.

Collaboration:
* Work closely with the Performing Arts team including dance and drama teachers.
* Contribute to school events, celebrations, and cultural programs.

Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s Degree in Music or Music Education.
* Teaching qualification (PGCE / B.Ed / QTS or equivalent).
* Experience teaching within the British Curriculum is preferred.
* Experience preparing students for performances or school productions.

Skills & Competencies:
* Strong instrumental or vocal ability.
* Ability to teach music theory and practical performance.
* Experience leading choirs or ensembles.
* Strong classroom management and communication skills.
