Project Design Coordinator

 

Description:

The Project Coordinator is responsible for supporting the Project Manager in planning, coordinating, and executing construction or interior fit-out projects. The role involves managing documentation, coordinating between site and office teams, tracking project progress, and ensuring that work is completed on schedule, within budget, and according to quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Project Manager in the day-to-day coordination and supervision of construction or fit-out projects.
  • Prepare and maintain project schedules, progress reports, and work programs.
  • Coordinate with site engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Monitor material procurement, delivery schedules, and installation timelines.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, including drawings, submittals, RFI logs, material approvals, and correspondence.
  • Track and report project progress, highlighting delays or issues requiring management attention.
  • Coordinate with design and technical teams to ensure drawings and specifications are up to date and issued to site teams on time.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements at all project stages.
  • Assist in preparing project-related documents such as minutes of meetings, work completion reports, and handover documentation.
  • Support the procurement team in obtaining quotations and preparing material comparison sheets.
  • Liaise with clients and consultants for approvals, inspections, and project updates.
  • Ensure proper communication and coordination between office and site teams.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
  • 3–6 years of experience in project coordination within the construction or interior fit-out industry.
  • Strong understanding of project management processes, drawings, and construction methodologies.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Project) and AutoCAD; knowledge of project management software is an advantage.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong documentation and reporting abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders under tight deadlines.
