Description:
RMJM is seeking to appoint a Projects Director / Commercial Director (Dubai) to support the continued growth of our Dubai Design Studio.
Responsibilities will include:
- Leading client engagement across projects
- Responsible for both cost and contracts management across various projects
- Manages / administers the commercial aspects of projects
- Accountable for briefing the team on project scopes to ensure roles and responsibilities are understood
- Responsible for ensuring that any additional work/changes in scope are approved by clients
- Reviews and responds to sub-consultants claims in accordance with the provisions of the Conditions of Contract and ensure the Clients interests are protected
- Provides direct liaison with the Client project teams
- Reviews contracts and commercial reports
- Participates in project planning activities for specific projects (e.g., risk assessment, bid/no bid analysis, etc.
- Collaborates with project leadership to ensure proper support in proposal preparation, as well as contract negotiations and administration
- Reviews requests for proposals to identify risks and contractual terms
- Negotiates the more difficult, complex, or sensitive issues with clients and sub-consultants
Qualifications and skills:
- Relevant degree and qualifications
- Minimum 15 years of relevant experience
- Proven ability to work independently and under pressure, while using good judgment, when making decisions that drive project delivery forward
- Possess exceptional interpersonal skills required to productively collaborate, negotiate, reach consensus and finalize project decisions
- Ability to maneuver in a culturally diverse and dynamic environment
- Ability to comfortably and knowledgeably manage throughout all phases of a project including planning, design, and construction phases
