Senior Monitoring & Impact Evaluation Specialist

Description:

We are seeking a highly analytical and impact-driven Senior Monitoring & Impact Evaluation Specialist to support the effective delivery and continuous improvement of humanitarian programs. This role is critical in ensuring that projects are implemented efficiently, achieve measurable outcomes, and create meaningful social and environmental impact.

Key Responsibilities

-Develop annual operational and emergency response plans aligned with organizational strategy for humanitarian projects

-Define and refine key performance indicators (KPIs) for effective project monitoring and evaluation

-Design and implement detailed monitoring frameworks for all projects to track progress and performance

-Conduct regular field visits to assess project compliance with timelines, budgets, and quality standards

-Prepare comprehensive periodic evaluation reports, including analysis of social and environmental impact

-Develop and enhance monitoring tools based on project KPIs and evolving needs

-Identify deviations from implementation plans and budgets, and recommend corrective actions

-Capture and document lessons learned, ensuring continuous improvement across projects

-Work closely with implementation teams to ensure recommendations are actionable and applied effectively

-Continuously update monitoring systems in response to field insights and operational changes

-Prepare and present detailed performance reports to senior management and funding partners

-Apply robust impact evaluation methodologies, particularly for long-term and high-impact initiatives

-Perform additional duties as required by the Head of Department

Qualifications & Experience

-Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in International Development, Public Policy, Economics, Social Sciences, or a related field

-Minimum 7–10 years of experience in monitoring, evaluation, and impact assessment, preferably within humanitarian or development sectors

-Strong experience in designing KPIs, evaluation frameworks, and impact measurement tools

-Proven ability to analyze complex data and translate findings into actionable insights

-Experience conducting field assessments and working with diverse stakeholders

-Familiarity with impact evaluation methodologies and reporting for donor-funded projects

-Excellent communication, report writing, and stakeholder management skills

-Fluent in English & Arabic
