Job Opportunity: SharePoint Migration Specialist
Are you a skilled IT professional with expertise in SharePoint migration? Our client, a leading organization based in the UAE, is seeking a talented individual to join their team and facilitate the seamless migration of a file server from On-Premises to SharePoint. This is a critical project, and we are looking for someone with the right skills and experience to ensure its success.
Responsibilities:
- Migrate a file server from On-Premises to SharePoint for two locations: Abu Dhabi and Dubai.
- Abu Dhabi location: Total storage of 825 GB, consisting of approximately 930,000 files in 81,140 folders.
- Dubai location: Total storage of 369 GB, consisting of about 222,000 files in 31,168 folders.
- Preserve existing folder permissions during the migration process.
- Ensure that permissions are limited to multiple internal users only (no external sharing).
- Work with On-Premises network capabilities, including 5-12 MB bandwidth and managed ADSL.
- Maintain the integrity of files with passwords and links between folders.
- Schedule the migration during non-working hours or weekends to minimize data center network disruptions.
- Utilize your expertise to overcome challenges faced with previous migration attempts using Azure migration and ShareGate tools.
- Generate comprehensive reports detailing folder permissions before the migration to meet auditing requirements.
- Collaborate with an Azure AD environment, already configured with approximately 200 active users (E5 licensed).
Requirements:
- Proven experience in SharePoint migration, specifically from On-Premises environments.
- Strong understanding of network capabilities and bandwidth management.
- Familiarity with preserving file integrity, including password-protected files and folder links.
- Previous experience with Azure migration tools is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot migration challenges.
- Strong communication skills to work with cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge of Azure Active Directory is advantageous.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
