Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Smart City Systems Specialist to join our team! In this role you will get to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team delivering technical designs and integrating smart city systems and digital infrastructure throughout the urban realm. What You'll Be Doing Smart City Enablement
- Translate smart city solution requirements into performance and functional specifications.
- Ensure alignment between smart city platforms, applications, and field-level connectivity.
- Identify optimum locations for field sensors, gateways, and edge devices, ensuring reliable network integration.
- Coordinate, review and validate ICT designs to enable Smart City solutions.
- Ensure ICT and communication designs comply with GCC telecom regulatory authorities and national ICT policies.
- Coordinate with licensed telecom operators for connectivity approvals and integration.
- Support regulatory submissions, approvals, and compliance documentation.
Consulting & Stakeholder Management
- Act as a trusted systems advisor to Internal teams and clients
- Support technical workshops, design reviews, and stakeholder alignment sessions.
- Provide clear technical guidance to non-technical decision-makers.
- Coordinate with smart city solution architects, ICT & security designers and telecom operators.
Systems Design and Validation
- Work closely with Other Parsons Disciplines or on-ground field teams during design and implementation planning
- Define connectivity requirements for smart city use cases including IoT sensors, surveillance, mobility, utilities, environment, and public safety.
- Review and assure network designs covering fiber, wireless, and IoT connectivity.
- Ensure designs are scalable, resilient, secure, and future-ready.
- Ensure smooth transition from implementation to operations.
What Required Skills You'll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Telecommunications, Computer Engineering or related engineering field.
- More than 5 years of experience in systems engineering, ICT, communication networks or smart city–related roles.
- Experience supporting smart city, digital infrastructure or IoT-based projects.
- Understanding of ICT concepts, architectures and standards with the ability to collaborate effectively with ICT specialists
