Description:
Parsons is looking for a talented Structural Design Manager to join our team! In this role you will be responsible for technical management of a highly-effective Bridge and Civil Structures design team, with integrated Geotechnical Engineering discipline.
What You'll Be Doing
- Lead the technical delivery of bridge and structure designs on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Lead technical reviews of the team’s work, including quality checks before submission.
- Plan, allocate, and coordinate resources to execute design commissions.
- Liaise with Project Managers and other Discipline Leads to manage deliverable schedules, information flow, and inter-disciplinary interfaces.
- Set and agree on priorities with Project Managers and Technical Managers.
- Meet with clients and approving authorities, when required, to present and discuss design matters.
- Provide clear direction to the Structures Team, ensuring expectations and priorities are understood.
- Report to the Technical Director on delivery, staffing, and utilization.
- Support the Technical Director with recruitment and people management within the team.
What Required Skills You'll Bring
- Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Minimum 20 years' post-graduate experience in bridges and structures design, including management and supervisory experience.
- Proven experience in managing teams, with the ability to motivate, guide, and develop staff to achieve project goals and high performance.
- Strong leadership abilities with the capacity to inspire and engage teams, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to convey complex technical information clearly to clients, stakeholders, and team members.
- A strong dedication to maintaining the highest standards of technical quality and ensuring the successful delivery of all projects on time and within budget
