AI Lawyers will be particularly involved in delivering on our strategic priorities to deploy best-in-class Legal AI Assistants, transform end-to-end legal workflows and proactively engage with our clients and understand their needs. They will also work closely with the data science team to optimise the value we get out of our data.

About You
 

  • You will have a minimum of 2 years’ post-qualification experience (following two years’ training or equivalent qualifying work experience).
  • Key characteristics: persuasive; strong ability to think on your feet/think laterally; adaptability and a keen interest in technology and innovation.
     

Your role
 

  • Work as part of a team of AI Lawyers tasked with supporting Linklaters’ lawyers and practices in embedding consistent, measurable and effective use of generative AI (GenAI) globally.
  • Deploy flexibly throughout Linklaters depending on where the most pressing need/best business case exists to work as a bridge between lawyers and technology providers, supporting in identifying and translating requirements and testing proposed solutions to minimise impact on client-facing lawyers’ time.
  • Support in cross-pollinating ideas between practice groups and regions so that solutions developed in one part of the firm can be leveraged by other parts.
  • Deliver regular targeted trainings on new developments based on up-to-date tools and usage, and hosts office hours to address any queries; also available to address queries at point of need.
  • Client-facing to deliver appropriate trainings (basic/ advanced prompting, using Linklaters’ client-facing AI functionality) where required; input into pitches re available tools and success stories; provide sound bytes/ other practice-specific talking points to lawyers.
  • Flexible to provide consultancy services to a Linklaters deal team on the best way to use AI effectively on a particular client matter, often at short notice.
  • Support the Director of AI Delivery in identifying emerging trends from tool usage, including areas requiring additional support and areas of strength to support fair allocation of resource aligned to the firm’s strategic goals.
     

Key priorities
 

  • Lead localised workstream focused on driving awareness and adoption of emerging GenAI capabilities within the firm's technology workbench (e.g., Copilot, Laila) and new solutions being developed.
  • Facilitate the development of internal framework (prompting, workflows) to create end-to-end processes for matter/ segment delivery within embedded practice group.
  • Create and maintain user-friendly collateral, including task lists and cheat sheets, specific to your practice group for internal use and at varying levels of sophistication (e.g. trainee, associate, partner).
  • Support client engagement in relation to AI use and products, driving support for Linklaters’ use of AI on mandates.
  • Proactively advocate for “host” practice group needs/ solutions to be prioritised on product roadmaps.
  • Keep up-to-date with market (including competitor) developments and potential areas of opportunity for embedded “host” practice group.
