Lead and coordinate fabricators and welders on marine projects involving steel or aluminum structures.
Take leadership in all the fabrication of piping and other structural works in workshop or on-board ships
Review and interpret engineering drawings, structural layouts, and welding specifications.
Assign work based on daily schedules and priorities set by supervisors.
Lead the team for AHT jobs as required.
Carrying out inspection at site as required and giving precise details of man power, material and other resources required for preparing commercial quotes.
Plan and execute daily jobs with allotted team maintaining IMS Standards and in effective and efficient manner.
Assign tasks and monitor performance of fabricators, welders, and fitters to ensure quality and productivity.
Inspect finished work for accuracy, dimensions, and quality in accordance with project requirements.
Lead and motivate the team for executing any kind of hull repairs like steel renewal, pipe renewals, load line items, valve repairs, heating coil repairs etc.
To ensure self and team members comply with inventory control procedures.
Conduct daily toolbox talks and enforce strict adherence to HSE procedures and marine safety regulations.
Actively contribute for proper tool management and maintain good standards in housekeeping.
Training the team members as required for enhancing their skills and on OHS matters.
Participate in resolving customer complaints and handling complaints of the team members.
Follow HSE Procedures of the company and wear proper PPE in workshop or at site and comply with client specific HSE requirement and motivate the team for strict compliance.
Report Near Misses/ Incidents as per occurrence and participate and contribute to enhancing OHS standards.
Any other job assigned workshop supervisor including assisting mechanical team as required.
Requirements
Relevant 8 years of experience in workshop / on-board ship or ship repair industry
Leadership skills and good knowledge and skills in piping works.
Working knowledge of written and spoken English
Willing and able to live and work hard in Fujairah, U.A.E.
Maintain cordial relationship with co staff of various nationality
Good knowledge of HSE.
Positive attitude, Team Player and maintain self-discipline.
