Description:
Alchemy is currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Foreman to join their team in Abu Dhabi. This is a rotational role (42 days on, 21 days off) offering an opportunity to work on critical oil and gas maintenance operations.
The ideal candidate should hold a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering and possess over 8 years of relevant experience in the Oil & Gas, refinery, or petrochemical industries. A strong focus is placed on expertise in maintaining and troubleshooting heavy-duty reciprocating gas compressors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Overhaul and conduct breakdown maintenance for reciprocating gas compressors and associated auxiliary systems.
- Carry out hands-on maintenance, including replacement of main bearings, connecting rod bearings, piston rods, cylinder valves, rider rings, piston rings, lube oil pumps, and related components.
- Utilize technical manuals, schematics, and engineering drawings to guide repair procedures.
- Identify malfunctions in compressors and implement corrective actions to restore proper function.
- Conduct shaft alignment procedures, seal lubrication tasks, and inspection of internal compressor components.
- Demonstrate strong understanding of reciprocating gas compressor operations, key components, and maintenance protocols.
- Ensure high levels of safety and precision while working in demanding offshore environments.
Requirements:
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
- Over 8 years of experience in the oil and gas sector, specifically in equipment maintenance.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in handling heavy-duty reciprocating gas compressors.
- Exceptional hands-on mechanical skills and the ability to work independently.
- Proficiency in reading technical documentation and carrying out high-accuracy mechanical tasks.
