Procurement & Contracts Engineer

A construction company in Abu Dhabi, UAE is seeking an experienced Procurement & Contracts Engineer to join their project team. This role is ideal for professionals with a strong background in construction procurement, subcontract management, and contractual processes, particularly within UAE projects.

The selected candidate will be responsible for managing procurement activities, preparing and evaluating supplier quotations, conducting cost analysis, and negotiating with suppliers and subcontractors. They will also assist in preparing subcontract agreements, handling variation orders, and coordinating contractual matters with project managers, engineers, and site teams.

Responsibilities include:

• Managing procurement of construction materials and subcontract packages efficiently.
• Preparing RFQs (Request for Quotations) and evaluating supplier proposals.
• Creating comparative statements and performing cost analysis for procurement decisions.
• Negotiating terms with suppliers and subcontractors to achieve optimal results.
• Preparing, reviewing, and managing subcontract agreements and contractual documentation.
• Assisting with variation orders and maintaining proper contractual correspondence.
• Coordinating with project managers, engineers, and site teams to ensure smooth project execution.

Requirements include:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Quantity Surveying.
• Minimum of five years’ experience in construction procurement or contracts management.
• Strong knowledge of construction materials, subcontracting processes, and UAE construction standards.
• Experience working on construction projects in the UAE is preferred.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.
• Must be an Arabic national and currently residing in the UAE.
