General Accountant

Description:

We are currently hiring a skilled and detail-focused General Accountant / Accountant to join our team in Abu Dhabi. This role is best suited for professionals with a solid background in the construction or engineering industry and a proven track record of handling accounting operations within the UAE market. Candidates must already be based in the UAE and available to join immediately.

The selected accountant will play a key role in managing financial accuracy, compliance, and coordination with internal project teams while ensuring adherence to local tax and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor project costs, control budgets, and ensure financial discipline across operations.
• Prepare accurate financial reports, statements, and account reconciliations.
• Coordinate closely with project managers and site teams on financial matters.
• Manage VAT filing, related documentation, and ongoing compliance activities.
• Ensure full compliance with UAE Corporate Tax regulations and reporting standards.
• Liaise with the Federal Tax Authority (FTA) for submissions, audits, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance with attested certificates.
• At least five (5) years of hands-on UAE experience within the construction or engineering industry.
• Strong working knowledge of VAT laws, FTA regulations, and UAE Corporate Tax.
• Proven experience in cost accounting, reconciliations, and financial controls.
• Arabic language proficiency is mandatory.
• Experience using ERP systems such as QuickBooks or similar platforms is preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to successfully pass a written accounting assessment.
