Senior Accountant

Description:

Morals Contracting, a leading company in the contracting industry based in Abu Dhabi, is seeking a highly experienced and dynamic Senior Accountant to join their Finance team. This role demands a strong leader with extensive expertise in accounting operations, audit management, and ERP system proficiency to ensure financial accuracy and compliance.

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for supervising daily accounting activities, authorizing payments and ledger entries, reviewing financial documents including VAT and tax filings, and managing audit processes. The role involves overseeing fixed assets and ERP-driven accounting functions while leading the finance team to deliver timely and accurate reconciliations and financial reports.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and manage accounting operations ensuring adherence to accounting standards and company policies.

• Authorize payment transactions and maintain integrity of general ledger entries.

• Review and verify financial statements, VAT and TAX filings, and audit reports to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

• Lead and motivate the accounting team to ensure efficient workflow and timely delivery of reconciliations and financial reporting.

• Manage fixed asset accounting and oversee ERP system-based accounting procedures.

Key Skills and Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; MBA or relevant advanced degree is a plus.

• Minimum 5 years of experience in a senior accounting role within UAE.

• Strong proficiency with ERP accounting software.

• Deep knowledge of accounting principles, VAT, and tax regulations applicable in the UAE.

• Excellent leadership abilities, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

• Strong communication skills to liaise with internal teams and external auditors effectively.
