Senior Accountant

Description:

This role is ideal for an experienced Senior Accountant who can take ownership of client accounts, oversee month-end and year-end closing activities, and ensure that all financial and tax deliverables are accurate and compliant with UAE standards. You will serve as a key advisor on VAT and Corporate Tax (CT), while also guiding a small team to maintain a high level of professional output.

What You Will Do:

• Oversee a dedicated portfolio of clients, managing all monthly and annual closing processes
• Review and validate accounting reports, VAT filings, CT submissions, and financial statements
• Prepare or review financial statements, tax returns, and compliance documents
• Assist consultants with balance sheets, tax computations, and financial disclosures
• Maintain adherence to UAE accounting regulations and update internal policies
• Collaborate with management and provide leadership, training, and support to team members

Must-Haves:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• Minimum of 5 years of professional accounting experience within the UAE
• Strong hands-on expertise in UAE VAT and Corporate Tax
• Proven experience preparing financial statements and tax returns
• Ability to manage and guide a team effectively
• Valid UAE driving license and personal vehicle

Nice-to-Haves:

• Familiarity with UAE-used ERP systems such as Zoho, Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage
• Experience coordinating audits and engaging with external stakeholders
• Exposure to various industries, ideally SMEs
• Additional professional certifications like ACCA, CPA, or CA
